5/13/2023 0 Comments Timebound by rysa walker![]() ![]() Kate (Prudence)- Kate was the perfect female protagonist for this book! I really appreciated her heroism and courageousness throughout the ups and downs. The romance was probably the best part of the book! Overall, you would be an idiot if you didn't want to read this book! Trey and Kiernan- the two love interests- were quirky and loveable characters but at the same time, their love for Kate was not too irritating. The love triangle had no affect on the central figure of the plot whatsoever. You see, I normally hate love triangles- but this book was different. The thing that really caught my attention in this book was the romance. As a result, I managed to finish the book in a day. Throughout the book, I was glued to the page and couldn't keep my eyes away. Her style of writing was so fascinating and riveting. This was the first book I've ever read by Rysa Walker, and I'm fairly impressed. Congratulations Timebound! You have made the top of my favorite books list. Timebound by Rysa Walker was the best book I've ever read in my entire life. Nonetheless, Rysa Walker has nailed it with her book Timebound. ![]() From past experience, time travel is not an easy thing to write about. ![]() 5/13/2023 0 Comments The thicket joe lansdale![]() ![]() Set just as oil is being discovered in Texas and the first cars are bumping along unpaved roads, The Thicket is an adventure yarn that is a mix of Tom Sawyer, Stand by Me and True Grit, with a solid dose of the comic, dark humour that populates Lansdale's Hap and Leonard books. De Bodard's Xuya universe setting is something to behold, a group of loosely connected stories in which Vietnamese and Chinese cultures have reached the stars and develop their own mindships, artificial intelligences borne in human wombs and raised in mixed families. Review 1: The book is written from Lily's point of view. ![]() 5/13/2023 0 Comments Blackout by Candace Owens![]() ![]() “The policy to not review or screen titles submitted is in line with many members’ preference to not have ABA decide what books they have access to, preferring to review books themselves to determine what they read, buy, sell, and promote.” It has been a pay-to-play program,” she said. Until now, no one has ever reviewed or screened the titles submitted by publishers. “Publishers pay ABA to include titles in the box, and ABA sends it to eligible bookstores. Hill’s statement followed an official inquiry into the episode and an audit of all ABA procedures and programs in collaboration with the organization’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. ![]() ![]() ![]() The story begins with Diana and Georgie hiding in the woods, observing the newcomers move into the caretaker’s trailer from afar. But that missing information felt like it did more damage than good, because I was constantly confused as to what was going on or what the purpose was. Her chapters were harder and harder to make sense of the further into the book you went, and you could tell that a lot was being held back from you. Wink is a very poetic and dreamy girl, and she talks and thinks and acts like that as well. I was never really satisfied with what was revealed.
